Home Decorating
By the second round, young people had learned that they will get marriage grants of half a million toman (about $600). Few suspected that he would be the final winner, but Mr. Ahmadinejads promises of a better share of the countries wealth for all was quite appealing to the population, as much as Mr. Karoubie's promise in the first round of 50,000 toman (roughly $60) for each Iranian every month brought him so many extra votes. Many are thinking about leaving and some have packed their bags already. They take not only their money but their knowledge and expertise, sadly. As for me, and many others, we wait and see the recent events in their historical perspective, and take a long-term view of the situation. Some say that if we truly care and believe in a civil society, we must be able to forgo our own interests for the interests of the majority of Iranians. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best without fearing the worst
